Background <p>Gliomas represent the most common primary brain neoplasms in adult, exhibiting a histological spectrum ranging from low to high grade.</p> Aim of the work <p>We report three cases of histologically confirmed high-grade gliomas exhibiting elevated Amide Proton Transfer (APT) signal intensity. These observations further support the diagnostic value of APT-weighted (APTw) MRI in identifying high grade gliomas.</p> Case presentation <p>The first case involves an adult male with a left frontal intra-axial lesion exhibiting high APT signal, diagnosed as glioblastoma. The second case is a pediatric patient with a left occipital lesion showing high APT signal, confirmed as an anaplastic ependymoma. The third case features an adult female with a right frontal lesion demonstrating high APT signal, diagnosed as an anaplastic astrocytoma.</p> Conclusion <p>High-grade glioma tends to has higher protein levels which results in high APT signal activity.</p>

Background

Gliomas represent the most common primary brain neoplasms in adult, exhibiting a histological spectrum ranging from low to high grade.

Aim of the work

We report three cases of histologically confirmed high-grade gliomas exhibiting elevated Amide Proton Transfer (APT) signal intensity. These observations further support the diagnostic value of APT-weighted (APTw) MRI in identifying high grade gliomas.

Case presentation

The first case involves an adult male with a left frontal intra-axial lesion exhibiting high APT signal, diagnosed as glioblastoma. The second case is a pediatric patient with a left occipital lesion showing high APT signal, confirmed as an anaplastic ependymoma. The third case features an adult female with a right frontal lesion demonstrating high APT signal, diagnosed as an anaplastic astrocytoma.

Conclusion

High-grade glioma tends to has higher protein levels which results in high APT signal activity.
