<p>FAO recently, developed and adopted a Vaccine Registration system for vaccines against priority diseases. It consists of a transparent and scientifically sound assessment process to ensure that selected vaccines meet global standards of quality, safety and efficacy, coupled with a procurement mechanism limiting the open public tender to the selected and approved suppliers. This streamlined approach accelerates the procurement of quality vaccines for disease control programs and during emergencies in FAO member nations.</p>
