<p>Suicide is a serious social problem. This study aimed to explore the mediating effects of emotion regulation and sense of meaning in life on stress perception and suicidal ideation of medical graduate students. A survey was conducted among 546 medical postgraduates using the digital stress scale, the emotion regulation scale, the sense of meaning in life scale and the suicidal ideation scale. The results showed that: (1) digital stress was significantly positively correlated with emotion regulation, sense of meaning in life and suicidal ideation; (2) The mediating effect of sense of meaning in life between digital stress and suicidal ideation is significant; (3) Emotion regulation and sense of meaning in life have chain mediating effects between digital stress and suicidal ideation in medical graduate students. This study proposed Implications for the underlying mechanisms by which digital stress affects suicidal ideation.</p>
