摘要

Given the high prevalence of IVF failure and its psychological impact, this study aimed to determine the effect of supportive counseling on resilience in infertile women following unsuccessful in vitro fertilization. Sixty-five infertile women after the failure of the first IVF started the study, but only 60 completed the trial. In the intervention group, individual supportive counseling was conducted during four sessions lasting 60 min each once a week. For the control group, routine care of the infertility center has been done. Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the total score of resilience and its subscales between the two groups. However, four weeks post-intervention, the total score of resilience and its subscales increased significantly in the intervention group compared to the control group, with an increase of 15.06 ± 15.14 in the intervention group and a decrease of 12.93 ± 13.03 in the control group (p < 0.001). Eight weeks post-intervention, the total score of resilience and its subscales increased significantly in the intervention group compared to the control group, with an increase of 20.60 ± 16.86 in the intervention group and a decrease of 17.80 ± 17.34 in the control group (p < 0.001). Based on the findings of this study, supportive counseling effectively enhanced resilience in infertile women following IVF failure.
