<p>This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of a novel chitosan-derivative polymers by using glyoxal as acrosslinker between chitosan and N-amino-9,10-dihydro-anthracene-9,10-α,β-succinamide (AS) under our conditions. The generated polymers were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (IR). The results indicate the successful formation of new polymer structures with unique properties. The antimicrobial activity of Chs-Gly-AS and its modified derivatives was evaluated using the cup diffusion agar method, showing enhanced inhibition against bacteria and fungi. The results demonstrate promising antimicrobial efficacy, suggesting the potential use of these polymers in antimicrobial applications.</p>
