Evidence-based nursing practice for the removal of peripheral arterial catheters in adult patients
摘要
To establish a standard procedure for the removal of peripheral arterial catheters (AC) in critically ill adult patients through the application of the best evidence for the removal of AC.
Methods16 best evidences were summarized through systematic retrieval and quality evaluation of the topics related to the removal of AC. 9 evidence-based quality examination standards were formulated based on clinical scenarios and professional judgment. The review indicators were implemented using the Johns Hopkins nursing evidence-based practice model in the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit.
ResultsAfter the second round of examination, the compliance rate of review indicators was significantly higher than before (P < 0.05), and the incidence of complications in patients significantly decreased (P < 0.05).
ConclusionThe implementation of the evidence-based practice protocol for the removal of AC in adults has standardized the procedure for AC removal and enhanced the safety of the process.
