Biosensing as an Important Direction for Development of the Bioeconomy in Russia
摘要
With the ever-increasing population of the planet, the burden on natural ecosystems and the biosphere as a whole is inevitably increasing. The traditional economic paradigm based on fossil fuels has almost exhausted itself, and there is an urgent need to switch to alternative sustainable models of production and consumption. The bioeconomy, an area that combines biological, technological, and economic knowledge, should play an important role in this process. This work analyzes the key role of biosensors and biofuel cells in its development. The analysis is carried out within the context of a new national project of the Russian Federation “Bioeconomy” and its five main areas: agriculture, healthcare, high-value bioproducts, energy, and waste recycling. It is shown that biosensors and biofuel cells are cross-cutting technologies capable of greatly increasing the efficiency of each area, and the active implementation of these nature-like technologies is a strategic factor in achieving Russia’s technological sovereignty and building a circular economy.
