Abstract <p>In this work CuO@HNTs-SO<sub>3</sub>H nanocomposite were investigated as a very effective, straightforward, affordable and recyclable catalyst for the quick synthesis of 1<i>H</i>-pyrazolo[1,2-<i>b</i>]phthalazine-5,10-dione derivatives by using substituted aromatic aldehyde, malononitrile and phthalhydrazide under ethanol reflux condition. This methodology has main benefits such as mild reaction conditions, low catalyst cost, eco-friendliness and high product yields (93–96%). Mass spectral, and NMR methods were used to analyze the structures of the targeted compounds<i>.</i></p>
