Abstract <p>In this article, the systematic characteristics of the natural dye plants spread in the flora of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have been analyzed, the Latin names of each natural dye plant species found in the area have been arranged in alphabetical order, the genera and families to which they belong have been noted, the life form of each species, the plant parts used for obtaining colour and the natural colour obtained from them have been studied. During the conducted research, it have been determined that, the natural dye plants found in the flora of Nakhchivan AR have been represented by 101 species, 75 genera and 44&#xa0;families. During the study, it has been found that, the main families of natural dye plants found in the area are: Rosaceae Juss. 13 species, Polygonaceae Juss. 9 species, Fabaceae Lindl. 6 species, Asteraceae Bercht. &amp; J. Presl 5 species. Genera with the largest number of species are: <i>Rumex</i> L. 7 species, <i>Prunus</i> L. 7 species; <i>Morus</i> L. 3 species. During the analysis of the parts of dye plants used for the purpose of obtaining color, it has been clarified that: leaves of 46 species, flower parts of 24 species, roots of 19 species, fruits of 14 species, aboveground of 13 species, bark parts of 12 species, stems of 5 species, shoots of 1 species have been used to obtain colour. During the analysis of colours obtained from natural dye plants, it has been revealed that, yellow colour is obtained from 56 species of dye plants, green colour from 27 species, and brown colour from 21&#xa0;species of dye plants. During the analysis of the life forms of natural dye plants, it has been found that, 55&#xa0;species of dye plants are herbaceous (54.46%), which make up more than half of the percentage.</p>
