Abstract <p>The interaction between zirconium dioxide-based pellets and carbon-containing material has been studied, including: thermodynamic evaluation was given, the reaction mechanism was proposed using the ideas about the chain mechanism of interaction between the granule and gaseous chlorinating agent, laboratory experiments on chlorination of granules with gaseous chlorine, including in fluidization mode, were performed.</p>
