<p>The properties of raw materials for preparing a batch of ceramic VK94-1 have been investigated. The influence of the initial components and the method of preparation of the mineral ceramic powder composition on the phase composition, microstructure, density, and mechanical properties of the sintered VK94-1 ceramic has been studied. It has been shown that preliminary grinding of quartz in a planetary mill and additional mixing of the initial component mixture after drying contribute to achieving a homogeneous phase composition of the mineral composition after synthesis at 1200–1500°C. Ceramic samples sintered in air at 1500–1650°C showed a bending strength of up to 289 MPa.</p>
