Equilibrium Configurations of Plasma in a “Dipole” Magnetic Trap in the Approximation of Two-Fluid Magnetohydrodynamics
摘要
Abstract
In this paper on the basis of two-fluid magnetohydrodynamics, the equilibrium plasma configurations in magnetic traps of the θ-pinch type are studied. The study is carried out using as an example the “Dipole” trap (a Galatea-type magnetic). For any trap of the θ-pinch type, taking into account the two-component nature of plasma allows us to correctly consider the centrifugal force acting on the plasma with a current. The results of the calculations show that taking this force into account yields, as a rule, equilibrium states qualitatively and quantitatively different from the equilibrium states obtained on the basis of the classical Grad–Shafranov equation.
