Abstract

The paper presents the results of experimental studies on the possibility and feasibility of producing a carbon–carbon composite material (CCCM) modified with carbon nanotubes in a single technological process of growing carbon nanotubes in a framework and its pyrocompacting using the thermal gradient method. A study of the physical–mechanical properties of carbon–carbon composite materials (CCCM) modified with carbon nanotubes and reinforced with an orthogonal framework revealed that they are superior to those of unmodified materials. Possible causes of the increased tensile, flexural, and compressive strength of CCCMs modified with carbon nanotubes are discussed.
