Fish Nutrition and Trophic Interactions between Fishes in the Sotka River at the Pinega State Reserve

Abstract
The results of analysis of the qualitative and quantitative composition of the diet of the most numerous fish species at the Pinega Reserve of the Sotka River, European grayling, roach, and perch, are presented. Their age features of nutrition and food interactions are considered. Tense food relations have been revealed between roach and perch as a result of intensive use of aquatic insect larvae as food components. A comparative analysis of nutrition has shown tense trophic interactions between them, which indicates a possible food competition. At the same time, the wide range of the diet of grayling mitigates the tension in its food relations with perch and roach.
