First Records of Chara baltica (Characeae, Streptophyta) in Azerbaijan
摘要
Abstract
This report documents first records of Chara baltica in Azerbaijan from the Caspian Sea coast. These findings also establish the southern- and easternmost known localities for the species. Morphology of the studied specimens aligns with descriptions from the species’ main distributional range and nearest localities in the Black Sea. The specimens exhibit a set of distinctive characteristics, such as a diplostichous tylacanthous cortex with solitary, rarely geminate spine cells, and large antheridia.
