Abstract

The applicability domain of the thermocurrent model arising under pulsed localized surface heating has been extended to account for non-zero magnetic field. Equations amenable to numerical solution were derived under the cylindrical symmetry approximation. Using a simplified qualitative model, it is demonstrated that the magnetic field suppresses the poloidal current, which imposes constraints on the spatial extent of the thermocurrent in the vapor.
