Modeling of the Effect of Velocity Oscillations of the Medium on a DC Glow Discharge
摘要
Abstract
Numerical studies of the effect of velocity oscillations of the medium on the parameters of glow discharge in argon have been carried out. It is shown that velocity oscillations cause electron density oscillations. A phase shift is observed between velocity oscillations and electron density oscillations. An increase in the amplitude of velocity oscillations leads to a decrease in the time-averaged electron density in a steady-state glow discharge. This is caused by the periodic increase in the loss of electrons at the anode because of the oscillatory motion of the plasma in the longitudinal direction.
