Solid Products of SO2 Uptake on a Methane Flame Soot
摘要
The composition of solid products formed during exposure of methane flame soot to the SO2 reagent gas has been studied using high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The gross formulas of the initial soot components which are completely consumed during exposure, and the gross formulas of the resulting products have been established. Comparative analysis of the compound classes shows that the consumption of cyclic class components is twice as high as the consumption of aliphatic components. Among the products formed, the ratio of aliphatic and cyclic compounds is opposite to the previous one. The relative content of the consumed cyclic components is actually equal to that of aliphatic compounds in the products. No sulfur-containing solid products were detected.
