Abstract <p>The review describes the evolution of high-resolution spectroscopic equipment mounted on the moving part of the alt-azimuth mount of the 6-m BTA telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences. We list the main problems identified during operation of various detector types and execution of various observational programs. Restrictions on programs are identified that arise from various requirements for the positional stability of spectrographs. Prospects for reconstruction projects for Nasmyth focus instruments are assessed.</p>
