摘要

Abstract

The Spin Physics Detector (SPD) is an experiment at the NICA collider intended to study the spin structure of the proton, deuteron, and other spin-related phenomena using polarized beams at center-of-mass energies up to 27 GeV and luminosities up to 1032 cm–2 s–1. One of the subsystems of the initial phase of the SPD experiment is the beam-beam counter (BBC). The BBC is designed as a highly granular scintillation detector. In this paper we present tests of a prototype BBC with an extended design. The first results obtained are discussed.
