Pulsation Suppression System for Current Sources of Corrective Lenses
摘要
EVPU PS 140-8 current sources are used to power the correction magnets of the Booster accelerator. IT-M3900D-10-170 current sources are used to power the corrective lenses of collider rings. When operating at low currents with an inductive load (5 mH), current pulsations with an amplitude of 500 mA appear at the output of current sources, which interfere with the adjustment of the beam orbit. To solve the problem of current pulsations of IT-M3900D-10-170, an electronic unit has been developed that solves problems such as suppressing current pulsation, current polarity reversal, energy evacuation in the event of a corrective magnet leaving the superconductivity mode, and emergency shutdown in the case of overheating of transistor assemblies. To solve the problem of current pulsations for EVPU PS 140-8, an electronic device has been developed that is an assembly of high-power Schottky diodes.
