Abstract <p>In the work of the FOBOS group (Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, JINR), the induced fission of fission fragments (FFs) in the shape isomer states was observed for the first time. As a part of a project dedicated to this phenomenon, both the mechanism of FF break-up and the characteristics of the reaction products are studied. The most promising experiments were performed at the MT-25 microtron at FLNR.</p>
