Abstract <p>The article analyzes the results of the latest survey of Russian enterprises conducted by the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Information is provided on the degree of influence of Western economic sanctions on the activities of Russian enterprises. An analysis of the situation with investment activity of domestic enterprises in the context of a high key rate and a sharp increase in the cost of loans is made. Data on the activity of foreign producers on the domestic Russian market are presented. The opinions of enterprises regarding the level of bureaucracy in the Russian economy are reflected. Comparative assessments of enterprises regarding the quality of Russian and foreign equipment are provided. The article examines the implementation of sustainable mechanical engineering principles in the Russian economy.</p>
