Abstract

The article examines the features of anticrisis policy at the governmental level using examples of global and Russian crises from recent decades. It identifies three stages of anticrisis policy, i.e., preventive, current, and postcrisis. The importance for not only immediate measures but also for long-term preparation for crises is emphasized. Special attention is given to the distinctions between anticrisis policy and standard policy, the role of reserves, and the balance between adhering to rule-based policies and exercising discretion. Financial, economic, institutional, and communication aspects affecting the effectiveness of anticrisis decisions and the strategic goals of national development are analyzed. Potential vulnerabilities of the Russian economy to future crises are considered, including the depletion of reserves.
