Abstract <p>Regioselective methods have been developed for the synthesis of previously unknown 2-func­tionalized 2,3-dihydro[1,3]thiazolo[2,3-<i>b</i>][1,3]benzothiazolium and 2-[1-(chloromethyl)organylsulfanyl]-1,3-benzothiazole derivatives in high yields on the basis of reactions of 2-(chlorosulfanyl)-1,3-benzothiazole with linear and cyclic alkenes and dienes.</p>
