Abstract <p>An efficient synthetic approach to (2,2′-bi)pyridines containing higher alkylamino groups at the α-positions has been proposed on the basis of their 1,2,4-triazine precursors. The synthetic sequence included solvent-free reactions. The synthesized compounds in acetonitrile solution showed photoluminescence with an absolute quantum yield of up to 83.2 %.</p>
