Abstract <p>Three-component reaction of 1-(3-aminopropyl)-1<i>H</i>-imidazole, iodomethyl ketones, and elemental iodine under solvent-free conditions at room temperature afforded <i>N</i>-(3-aminopropyl)imidazolium triiodides which were identified by NMR and UV spectroscopy.</p>
