Abstract <p>The synthesis of 4-(2′-phenylethyn-1′-yl)-<i>O</i>,<i>O</i>-diethylphosphonate, 4-(2′-phenylethyn-1′-yl)phosphine, and the corresponding 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane was presented. The reaction products were characterized by NMR spectroscopy. The conducted studies showed that 4-iodophenylphosphonate is a convenient reagent that undergoes functionalization via C–C cross-coupling reactions, enabling the synthesis of a wide range of functionalized phosphonates, phosphines, and their derivatives.</p>

Abstract

The synthesis of 4-(2′-phenylethyn-1′-yl)-O,O-diethylphosphonate, 4-(2′-phenylethyn-1′-yl)phosphine, and the corresponding 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane was presented.
