Metal–Organic Framework Based on γ-Cyclodextrin and Ca2+ Ions as a Fingolimod Delivery System
摘要
At present, one of the promising areas of chemistry is the selection and development of drug delivery systems for therapeutic compounds that are already used in treatment but exhibit side effects. In this work, a metal–organic framework (MOF) based on biocompatible γ-cyclodextrin coordinated with Ca2+ ions was considered as a delivery system for the immunomodulator fingolimod. The effect of MOF synthesis conditions and the method of fingolimod immobilization on the characteristics of MOF/fingolimod composites was determined. The obtained compounds were characterized by X-ray diffraction, low-temperature nitrogen adsorption/desorption, and FTIR spectroscopy. The influence of the MOF on the fingolimod dissolution rate was revealed. The obtained results may be useful for developing new formulations of this drug intended for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
