Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Optical Properties of Cd(II) Complexes Based on Carboxamide Derivatives

Two Cd(II) complexes were synthesized. The crystal structures of complex (C28H34CdI2N6O4) (I) and complex (C30H34CdN8O4S2) (II) were obtained by X-ray diffraction analysis. The structures and properties were studied in detail by single crystal data (CCDC nos. 2391340 (I), 2391341 (II)), thermogravimetric analysis, and spectral measurement. The results show that the two complexes are centered on the Cd atoms, which are coordinated with two organic ligands and two anions to form symmetrical unit structures. Different layered structures are formed through the intermolecular force. Complexes I and II can exist stably up to 270 and 240°C. They have aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics, and organic ligand (L) has strong chelation with Cd(II), which contributes to removal of Cd(II) in environmental pollution.
