Abstract

An IoT data network model based on spacecraft in low circular orbits in the one-way random multiple access mode has been developed. The model makes it possible to estimate the fraction of packets lost due to collisions with allowance for features of sensor positioning over the network service area, characteristics of the spacecraft’s orbital constellation, and parameters of on-board repeater and sensor antennas. The model has been implemented in the Matlab language in the form of scenarios for preparing source data, simulating the network operation, and processing statistics. Numerical experiments have been carried out to estimate the fraction of lost packets at different options of sensor positioning over the territory of the Russian Federation and a separate region of the network’s service area.
