Analysis of the Effect of Pulsed Currents Flowing from the Lightning Grounding Electrode on the Underground Optical Communication Lines
摘要
We present the results of physical modeling of action of the lightning current flowing through the grounder in a high-resistance soil to nearby located fiber-optic communication lines. The action of the electromagnetic field induced by the leaking pulsed lightning current on a fully dielectric fiber-optic cable located in the soil is considered. As the path of pulsed current, we consider two electrode systems partially located in the soil near the optical cable. In the course of experimental investigation, rapid changes in the State of Polarization of the signal transmitted through a fiber with a rate exceeding the current pulse growth rate have been observed. The amplitude of such changes circumscribed a full circle on the Poincare sphere.
