Abstract

A single crystal of L-asparagine L-tartaric acid (LALTA) doped with 1 mol % ammonium sulfate grew successfully through the solution technique. Structural analysis via XRD revealed that the sample adopts a monoclinic structure. The frequency doubling behavior of the sample was evaluated using the Kurtz–Perry technique. Thermal stability and decomposition behavior were investigated using simultaneous thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The Z-scan method was employed to evaluate third order nonlinear optical properties including nonlinear absorption coefficient (β), refractive index (n2), and susceptibility.
