TSVD-Based Iterative Algorithm of Landweber for Neutron Spectra Unfolding by Bonner Multi-Sphere Spectrometer Readings
摘要
Abstract
In this paper, a method based on the truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) combined with the Landweber iterative algorithm is proposed for unfolding the neutron spectral density function from the readings of the Bonner multi-sphere spectrometer. As an ansatz for representing the neutron spectrum, we use a superposition of shifted Legendre polynomials. The method allows us not only to increase the accuracy of unfolding but also to determine the optimal set of spectrometer moderator spheres for performing correct measurements. To illustrate our method of unfolding neutron spectra and selecting sets of spectrometer moderator spheres, we use experimental data obtained at the IREN facility (Intense REsonance Neutron Source), JINR.
