Congo Red Decolorization Using Cotton Textile Bound Iron Oxide Particles

In this paper, we have described the preparation of cotton textile modified with magnetic iron oxide particles employing microwave-assisted conversion of ferrous sulfate at high pH followed by drying. Scanning electron microscopy and EDS of native and modified textiles clearly showed the presence of iron oxide particles on the surface of the modified cotton fibers.
