The Lithium-Based Scintillating Glass for Neutron Detection
摘要
Abstract
Scintillating glasses with a high content of 6Li are well proven materials for efficient detection of cold, thermal, and epi-thermal neutrons. In this work, we present an innovative laboratory-scale method for manufacturing of a scintillating glass based on a natural mixture of Li isotopes doped with Ce3+ ions, as well as the results of the measurements of the light yield and neutron detection efficiency at the experimental-measuring stand “NEUTRON” of an U-70 accelerator complex at the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute,” Institute for High Energy Physics.
