Abstract <p>The results of a study of the compound Ni<sub>2</sub>(SO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>·11H<sub>2</sub>O·(CH<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>SO are presented. Samples suitable for studying the structure, spectral characteristics, and thermal properties were obtained. The structure of a Ni<sub>2</sub>(SO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>·11H<sub>2</sub>O·(CH<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>SO single crystal at room temperature was studied using X-ray diffraction analysis. Transmission spectra were analyzed in the range of λ = 200–800 nm. Transparency regions at the UV–visible and visible–IR boundaries were determined. The thermal properties of the obtained crystal were studied in the temperature range from 20 to 180°C.</p>
