Investigation of Singlet Oxygen Generation in Aqueous Solutions of Sulfonamide and Gallic Acid under UV Irradiation
摘要
Abstract—
Absorption spectra and luminescence spectra of sulfanilamide, gallic acid, and their mixture in water under ultraviolet irradiation (282 nm) are studied experimentally. The quantum yield of singlet oxygen is calculated by an indirect method using a 9,10-anthracenediyl-bis(methylene)dimalonic acid trap. It is found that photolysis and addition of gallic acid to an aqueous solution of sulfanilamide reduced the quantum yield of singlet oxygen generation of the antibiotic from 0.149 to 0.009.
