Abstract <p>The relationship between optical properties, optical basicity, and reduction of Eu(III) ions in aluminoborosilicate glasses was studied. It was shown that Eu(II) ions are formed by high-temperature synthesis of glasses in air. It was found that optical basicity is not a key factor determining the mechanism of europium reduction in the glasses studied.</p>

Abstract
