<b>Abstract</b>— <p>An elliptically polarized cylindrical vector laser beam is implemented on the basis of a liquid-crystal radial polarization converter, and its application in scanning fluorescence microscopy of single molecules is tested. The influence of the beam ellipticity parameters on the intensity distribution in images of single molecules is demonstrated.</p>
