Comparative Analysis of the Influence of Pg and Pc6 Geomagnetic Pulsations on the Growth of Geomagnetically Induced Currents in Power Lines of the Murmansk Region
摘要
Abstract
The influence of geomagnetic pulsations of different frequencies (Pg and Pc6) and approximately the same amplitude on the growth of geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) recorded in power transmission lines on the Kola Peninsula was analyzed for the case of September 25, 2017. Pg pulsations lead to a greater value of the geomagnetic field variability dB/dt, but the amplitude of the GIC during the occurrence of Pg and Pc6 pulsations is the same. When predicting the GIC, it is necessary to take into account not only dB/dt, but also the frequency of geomagnetic disturbances.
