Abstract <p>In this paper, the electrical polarizability, absorbance spectra and photothermal properties of Au/Fe/Au and Fe/Au/Fe layered microdisks synthesized by lift-off optical lithography are investigated. An analytical method is proposed to determine the electrical polarizability in the quasi-static approximation. Theoretical and experimental results are in agreement in the visible and near-infrared spectral range. The results obtained provide an assessment of the applicability of such microdisks for combined photothermal and magnetomechanical anticancer therapy.</p>
