Abstract <p>The UV irradiation of poly(diphenylene phthalide) results in a set of ion–radical states and their stabilization by a polymer matrix. The authors record the thermally stimulated cryoluminescence (<i>T</i> = 80–150&#xa0;K) of poly(diphenylene phthalide) caused by the recombination of ion–radical states. It is shown that the kinetics of the decay of poly(diphenylene phthalide)’s cryoluminescence is polychronous.</p>
