Abstract

Cortinarius suillonigrescens, belonging to the section Sordescentes, was found under Quercus in the Black Sea Region of Türkiye in 2001. Macro- and microscopic features were analyzed using standard morphological methods, and phylogenetic inference was based on the nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer (nrDNA ITS) gene region. A detailed description, color photograph, and microscopic illustrations were also provided. Phylogenetic analysis revealed its evolutionary relationship with the closely related species. The results indicated that the specimen is a new record for the genus Cortinarius for Turkish mycobiota.
