Abstract

The latest sublatitudinal and NW-striking upthrust-thrust structures occur in the basement of the southern slope of Khan-Khuhei Range. The thrust plates are composed of the Upper Cambrian–Middle Pleistocene rocks. This work presents data on amplitudes and rates of movements along the faults both in the Late Pleistocene and throughout the Late Cenozoic. It was shown that the rates of tectonic movements significantly increase in the Quaternary and in particular in the Late Pleistocene. Potential seismic hazard of the described thrust structures is highlighted.
