U–Pb Age of Detrital Zircon Grains from the Middle Jurassic Sandstones of the Northeastern Flank of the Nagondzha Terrane, Ulakhan-Sis Ridge, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
摘要
The U–Pb (LA-ICP-MS) age is determined for detrital zircon grains from the Middle Jurassic sandstones of the northeastern flank of the Nagondzha Terrane. The sandstones contain Archean to Middle Jurassic zircon grains. The average weighted age of the youngest population is 167.6 ± 1.2 Ma (Bajocian–Bathonian). The maximum at 168 Ma and the presence of synchronous pyroclastic material in sedimentary rocks suggest the proximity of active volcanic centers to the sedimentation area in the Bajocian–Bathonian. This confirms the presence of a Middle Jurassic island arc in the Omulevka microcontinent, which provided clastic material for the eastern part of the Oimyakon paleobasin. Other sources of clastic material included the Paleozoic volcanosedimentary rocks of the basement of this arc, as well as Precambrian and Paleozoic metamorphic, igneous, and volcanosedimentary rocks abundant within the Prikolyma and Omolon cratonic terranes. The main difference between the studied sandstones and coeval terrigenous rocks of the Polousnyi Terrane is related to the presence of a significant amount of Meso–Neoproterozoic zircon grains, which are probably redeposited from the Paleozoic terrigenous sequences of the Omulevka and Prikolyma terranes.
