Abstract <p>The results of U–Pb (ID-TIMS) of garnet from skarn rocks of the Gavasai magnetite deposit (Gava-Sumsar ore field, Kyrgyzstan) are presented. The data obtained on the age of the contact-reaction processes (304 ± 1 Ma) are consistent with the stage of the formation of gold and copper–gold mineralization in this region. This gives reason to assume the presence of reserve-rich deposits of other ore specialization within the distribution of iron-ore skarns.</p>
