Abstract <p>The genetic diversity of the Siberian dark forest bee <i>Apis mellifera mellifera</i> L. was studied using a complex of microsatellite loci. Comparative genetic analysis of the dark forest bees from different populations in Russia (Siberia, the Urals) and Europe revealed differences between <i>A. m. mellifera</i> populations from different geographic localities and genetic specificity of the Siberian dark forest bee, supporting the existence of a Siberian ecotype of <i>A. m. mellifera</i>.</p>
