Abstract <p><i>Colpomenia sinuosa</i> is very versatile and can be used as a raw material for the production of food, fuel and other products. The cp genome of <i>C. sinuosa</i>is 135 967 bp in length with a GC content of 30.69%.The assembled genome has a typical cyclic structure, containing a large single-copy (LSC)region of 82 233 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 43 214 bp, and a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 5260 bp. The cp genome contains 108 895 unique genes, including 98 424 protein-coding genes, 8338 rRNA genes, and 2133 tRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that <i>C. sinuosa</i> was closely related to Phaeophyceae <i>C</i>. <i>sinuosa</i> is a brown alga rich in molecules of pharmacological, nutraceutical, and functional properties. Despite its therapeutic potentials, this alga is poorly studied in this area of the Mediterranean. Herein we present the report on <i>C</i>. <i>sinuosa</i> with published genomic information to facilitate research.</p>
