Abstract

The article analyzes the current state of the left-wing radicalism in the United States. The author points out a few crucial features of the groups and movements which could be characterized as belonging to this ideology. These are decentralization, the usage of the ‘leaderless resistance’ strategy, aiming at damaging their opponents’ property, the so-called ‘symbiotic radicalization’ between left-wing and right-wing extremists, spreading of extreme left-wing ideas in modern US culture; also, some light is cast on the reasons why left-wing extremists in the US choose to support Palestine in its conflict with the state of Israel. The author concludes that, despite the fact that there are much fewer left-wing extremist groups in the modern United States than there are right-wing ones, left-wing extremists are still a force to be reckoned with.
